Refund Policy

• The $5 trial charge: refundable in full within 14 days of the charge if the trial account has not run a scan. Once a scan has run, the trial has been performed and the charge is non-refundable.
• Monthly plans: non-refundable once charged. Cancel any time before renewal to stop future charges; access continues to the end of the paid cycle.
• Annual plans: full refund within 14 days of the initial charge; pro-rata refund of unused months thereafter only where required by law.
• Trial conversion: the trial converts to the plan chosen at checkout unless cancelled before the trial ends. The trial charge is separate from, and not credited against, the first subscription payment.
• Free tiers: no payment, no refund.

The 5-day trial carries a one-off $5 charge that covers the measurement run performed during the trial (5 prompts and up to 100 analysed AI observations). Because that measurement consumes third-party AI inference the moment a scan starts, the charge becomes non-refundable once the first scan has been triggered. If you paid for a trial and never started a scan, email us within 14 days and we will refund it in full, no questions asked. Cancelling during the trial stops conversion to a paid plan but does not by itself refund the trial charge.

Consumers in the UK and EEA have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts. By starting to use the Service during that period, you expressly request immediate performance and acknowledge that you will lose your right of withdrawal once the Service has been fully performed. Where the Service has been only partially performed during the withdrawal period and you exercise the right of withdrawal, we will refund a pro-rata amount.

Email legal@citations.io from the address on your account, with the subject line "Refund request" and the invoice number you are referring to. We will acknowledge within 2 business days and, where the request qualifies, process the refund to the original payment method within 10 business days.

If you have a billing dispute, contact us first so we can resolve it. Filing a chargeback without first contacting us may result in your account being suspended pending review. We will provide your payment provider with evidence of the services delivered.

• Fees paid for usage already consumed (e.g. AI inference credits, third-party pass-through costs) are non-refundable.
• Where an account is terminated for breach of the Terms or AUP, fees are non-refundable.
• Statutory consumer rights are not affected by this policy.
